MONDAY 26th September: Still donkeyless
Cato:
See - they still aren't here. the grass has grown. the fence is down. it is very worrying
This is Bella. She is very pretty. And very young. And I liked her, but she wouldn't stay still long enough for a proper sniff.
And the water is back! It went away and got very low when it was hothothot, but now it is back again. Tara trampled about on the edge. Of course. And tried to push me in. Of course.
Dad said it might be muddy! So we looked and looked, and went to all the bits that used to be muddy before. But we couldn't find any.
Tara:
This is... um... don't know his name. He is BIG. His dad is a bit elderly and unsteady on his feet. So they walk very slowly. He is a bit smelly, and he really needs a bath. I didn't ever think that anyone actually needed a bath. But this paw does!
And he liked Cato more than me! He tried to hump Cato. Cato just walked away. Hahaha!
It woz a bit hot actually, and Cato got a bit floppy. It was good to have the water. While we were having our Truffle Hound treat game, LOTS of paws went past.
We saw Bella again.
Then these guys went past. They sniffed at our treats! And I had to climb on the bench to keep them away from my knickers!!!
This is Frank. He is 9 months old, and very tall. Cato liked him. Cato likes everyone. Franks dad stayed and talked to our Mum and Dad, and then walked off. That is him in the distance. Frank didn't go with him. He went a looonng way away, and Frank still didn't go, cos he was playing with Cato. Mum liked Frank too. She says he looks American. Do you understand that, Aunties?
Mum:
This columbine is actually climbing up a bullrush! lol
I can't see that working...
Have you ever seen so many rosehips? I wish I had a use for rosehip syrup, I could make enough for 10 years, there are so many around this Autumn. But there is too much sugar in it.
And ALL the hawthorn berries are now ripe.
Oh, and I am delighted to say we saw the swan family again. It is too far away to see them properly in the pic, but the whole family (6 babies) are all still there. Wonderful, isn't it?
