tignows 14
still no progress.. I let them interact everyday for a short period of time. no problems when i am supervising them but as soon as i leave to go to the bathroom, kitchen, etc. the 5 month old starts with his routine of chasing the 2yr old female again.. i don't know what else to do lol
Pawz4me 6,802
Are you sure your 5 month old isn't just attempting to play, perhaps in an over eager way? Sometimes play can look aggressive. Unless your older dog is acting scared or afraid, then it's probably perfectly okay to let them work it out themselves. If the pup gets too rowdy she'll likely correct him (which may look very aggressive to you, but it's extremely uncommon for an adult dog to actually injure a younger dog during a correction).
babnaw 1,391
I agree with Pawz, it sounds like the pup is trying to play. When Rebel chases Mr. T she sometimes sounds like she's trying to attack him, but they are just playing. If one or the other has had enough or is too rough they usually growl or nip and that tells the other one to knock it off and if they don't get the hint then I step in.
