mr.coffee 364
I went to get Harley's Sojo's today at Dag's. I'd seen this little guy there once before, he's a Tzu named Ozzy and he can't use his back legs. I don't know the nature or extent of his injury, or how old he is, but he's a totally mellow little guy and an absolute sweetheart. He was perfectly happy to have me petting him and loving on him, and doesn't seem terribly bothered by his disability. I wish I were in a position to bring him home, but right now I just can't do a second dog. If I could, I don't know what would be involved in taking care of him - would he require one of us to be there for him full time? Probably so, and I don't know if we can commit to that. I like to think my career will soon put us in a position for Shannon to be able to stay home, but nothing's certain right now. I dunno, I guess it's moot right now but I just wanted to tell about him. -m
mom2Gizmo 24
That is so sad. I wish he were around here. I'd love to know more about him. Maybe the owner should contact shih tzu rescue?
mr.coffee 364
I don't think he has an owner. IIRC, they said he was brought in by someone who found him. Maybe I can get a picture and more information next time I'm there... -m
mr.coffee 364
Found a picture of Ozzy running around in his wheelchair on Dag's House's Facebook page: There's a full photo album of him, too. In the comments, it mentions that he came from the LASPCA in January, unable to walk and suffering malnutrition. -m
mom2Gizmo 24
Oh my, he is a cutie! I'm thinking he must be incontinent? If he were close to me I'm sure he'd have a home after my husband would hear about him!
mr.coffee 364
Stacy says he doesn't have any issues with holding his bladder...how cool is that? I'm really gonna keep an eye on this little guy. He's getting acupuncture and swimming, but she isn't sure how it's gonna go in the long haul. She said they think somebody hit or kicked him really hard, I just can't imagine - he's such a gentle, loving soul! -m

In any case, hope Harley & the little guy have a spendid time together.....it could be a match made in heaven for both of them. Good luck, he's a cutie!

mr.coffee 364
Yeah, he really seems to do well. Regardless of whether we decide to try and bring him into our family, I've grown fond of him and will be keeping tabs on him for as long as I can. -m
mr.coffee 364
We went and visited Ozzy today, Harley and I went for a while this morning. They hit it off like long lost best buddies! After I left, I got to thinking, and had to pick him up a toy, so after I picked Shannon up from work we went back over to give it to him. Harley was at home the second time. As I expected, Shannon fell head over heels in love with the little guy. He's a little swollen 'cuz he got fixed yesterday, but that hasn't slowed him down or phased him in the least - he scoots all over the place! I shot a couple minutes of video, but haven't downloaded it from my phone. I did get a couple pictures to share, though! Here's me and Ozzy: And here's Ozzy making sweet faces for the camera: He's just such a doll, I really, really want to bring him home. He made the saddest face at us when we crated him back up and said goodbye. -m
mel 251
He is a beautiful dog. Hope he finds a good forever home if you cannot get him.

mr.coffee 364
Well, I'm madly in love with the little guy, and right now it's soooo hard to listen to reason and resist the urge to just bring him home straight away. He sat in my lap and gave me little kisses, and didn't want to be put down. The girls said when I left, he moped around in his crate for three hours! I still can't say how it'll work out, but...let's just say I've got dibs. -m
Seastar 44
It's readily apparent that you and he are meant for each other. Take this precious boy home and give him all the love he deserves. That's my take on it. HE IS YOURS :birthday_toast:
Shredder 4
No pressure here, but it sure looks and sounds like he belongs with you.... Ozzy deserves the best and by what all I've read here, he is pulling on your heart strings real hard! .... Best of luck to you and Ozzy in whatever you decided....
