PipsMom 34,988
Oh my goodness, poor Bailey. What suffering he must had endured no wonder he freaked out. Don't understand people that put big chains on dogs.
Missysmom 24,975
Oh poor Bailey and Winnie, how awful for them. I know I too am going to have to watch Missy carefully as she too is a rescue and we have no idea what she's been through but have had some reactions, when least expected, from her. Thanks for the heads up Jeannie, to be honest I'm rather dreading this grooming but know it has to be done or else back to the groomer which was a whole other reaction from her.. Sometimes it can be very hard to know what might set off our sweet rescues... Will let you guys know how this works out for us.
Sophie's Haven 17,464
One suggestion you may want to try this with Missy.......I put Lexie in the hook up and joked around with her.....gave her a treat and played around with the straps to give her the feel like it was just a leash.......kept her in it for about 5 minutes then I took her out and did not put her back in until later that afternoon after she had her bath. Now she did not care for it but I was able to work on her.....Lexie is the one that goes in circles while trying to groom her........she is not able to with this........so let her get use to it a couple of times before you actually work on her........maybe do back legs if clipping nails.......take her out......give treat.....wait awhile then put her back in and do front legs........just a suggestion............
